WARMFUZZY’S HAPPENING'S

7/19/2002

It's been an extremely busy time lately around here to say the least !!

We are still working on trying to find homes for both Sheri Thompson's and Crickett Harkin's cats.  While many have found homes there are still many left.   WarmFuzzys is working with the American Humane Society in their Very Best Pet Network Adoption Program.  Coming soon to the Raytown and Blue Springs WalMart stores will be a board hosting our adoptable animals ( cats, kittens and dogs) .  Pictures of our adoptables are up at PetsMart on Hillcrest Road, KC.

We currently have 11 kittens that will need homes to go to.  Four are ready to go.   Please see our Adoptable Kitties page.  Then there is a grey fuzzy who will be ready in about two weeks, followed by an orange tabby.  There are four 4 weeks old babies that are in the beginning stages of being weaned and lastly a two week old baby still being hand bottle fed.  Pick a color and we probably have it !!

On 7/15 and 16 Lisa and Joyce were interviewed by Fox 4 News.  It was shown on the 9PM news.  Guess who missed seeing themselves !!

This is the worse kitty season WarmFuzzys has seen in all of it's years of operation.   All of the animal organizations in the area are overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of available cats.  We can't stress enough the importance of getting your pets altered & keeping your cats indoors.  Not only won't you loose your pet but it will be healthier for your cat and help reduce the number of animals.  Please, don't contribute to the unwanted animal population.  Don't contribute to the climbing numbers of animals that are being killed.  Your pet is part of your family, not a disposable item but a responsnbility you chose.

Contact PAWS, Inc. at 816-252-2680, Box 16664, Raytown, MO  64133.  They offer certificates for low cost spay/neuter and vaccinations from designated veterinarians.

WarmFuzzys is a very small group of people working with extremely limited resources and funds.  We are in the process of applying for 501(C)(3) Non-Profit Status.  We need people to adopt these cats and give them a good home.

If you are unable to physically adopt a kitty how about becoming a Sponsor to one of our WarmFuzzy's ?  The first year of sponsorship would cost $10 a month to cover the cost of food, vaccinations & being altered.  Every year thereafter would cost $8 a month for food and yearly vaccinations.  You would receive a picture of the warm fuzzy you choose to sponsor in email (preferably) or US Postal Service along with periodic updates on him/her as well as a Certificate of Sponsorship.  Think about it, then hopefully you will choose to help save a life.

You can use the link below to make a contribution to WarmFuzzy's which would be gratefully accepted.  FYI - to have one cat given vaccinations and "fixed" costs about $100.00 and there are approximately 40 cats & kittens that need to be taken care of.  It takes roughly 75 pounds of dry cat food to feed the colony for one week.  One 18 pound bag costs a little over $10.  We also need two large dog cages to house the cats while they are recovering.

Thank you for any support you can give to our WarmFuzzy's.
